Wendy and Pat McSweeney
have resided in Powhatan County for 37 years. As the county has grown and their children have grown and gone, the McSweeneys
want to offer their home to guests for a comfortable stay while they are visiting friends or relatives in the area, attending
a family function, or simply looking for a pleasant, relaxing getaway.
With close proximity to Richmond (20 miles to downtown) Charlottesville
(60 miles to the University of Virginia) and Williamsburg (75 miles), plus plenty to do in between, McSweeney Farm
B&B offers a convenient base while providing a restful, peaceful place to lay your head at night.
Situated on 21 acres on
the historic James River, McSweeney Farm B&B is a colonial style three-story home with a unique English basement that
becomes your breakfast area. You may choose to have your breakfast in the sunroom, the garden room, or, weather
permitting, outside on the deck which wraps around the house and overlooks the James River. A short distance to
the lowgrounds at river's edge would be a great morning hike.
In season, we have several vegetable gardens to provide fresh herbs for our kitchen. We invite you to stroll through the rose
garden and make yourself comfortable on the deck.
